TRELLIX STINGER (formerly McAfee Stinger) is a TARGETED MALWARE REMOVAL TOOL designed to detect and eliminate specific threats. This STANDALONE UTILITY serves as a RAPID RESPONSE SOLUTION for infected systems, complementing — but not replacing — comprehensive antivirus protection.

Trellix Stinger now includes Real Protect, an advanced real-time behavior detection technology that monitors suspicious endpoint activity and uses machine learning to detect zero-day malware instantly.

Real Protect combines advanced machine learning with automated behavior-based classification powered by cloud technology. This advanced system analyzes suspicious activities and files, instantly detecting and neutralizing zero-day malware that targets previously unknown vulnerabilities.

This Trellix tool uses an advanced scan engine and includes process scanning, digitally signed DAT files, and optimized scan performance. It effectively detects and removes threats identified within the application’s “List Viruses” section.

Each Trellix Stinger build includes new or updated signatures. For more information, refer to the Readme details.
