The NVIDIA RTX and Quadro Driver Solutions are engineered for exceptional performance in leading professional software. Driver Name Change

With the introduction of NVIDIA RTX products, which power the next generation of professional visual, compute, and AI platform solutions for the enterprise, the Quadro driver will transition to the NVIDIA RTX Enterprise brand to better align with new and future products.

NVIDIA RTX/Quadro Enterprise Drivers will continue to deliver the same enterprise-grade quality, reliability, performance, and security as previous Quadro drivers. These updated drivers deliver the latest features and enhancements for RTX GPUs while ensuring full support for current and legacy Quadro GPUs. Whether working with cutting-edge RTX technology or relying on trusted Quadro solutions, these drivers are designed to meet the demanding needs of professional workflows.

The driver branch name will change from ‘Optimal Driver for Enterprise’ to ‘Production Branch.’ Despite the new name, all enterprise-grade attributes will remain unchanged. This updated naming convention ensures consistency across all enterprise GPU products, including Data Center GPUs, making identification and support more streamlined for users.

NVIDIA RTX New Feature Branch Driver

Release 590 is a New Feature Branch (NFB) driver. NFB drivers provide users the flexibility to try new features made available outside the launch cycle of longer-lived Production Branch drivers. NFB drivers are tested for workstation environments and are recommended for early adopters who need specific features listed in release highlights or release notes.

  • PyNvVideoCodec Decode Statistics — Applications can now retrieve both decoded output and decode statistics in a single step.
  • Vulkan Enhancements
  • Added support for VK_KHR_video_encode_quantization_map, allowing users to specify
    • quantization maps during video encoding.
    • Added support for VK_KHR_video_encode_intra_refres, enabling the generation of error-tolerant bitstreams, enhancing low-latency video streaming.
    • Performance improvements for Vulkan raytracing workloads.

NVIDIA OpenCL Vulkan Interop

The NVIDIA OpenCL driver has introduced support for recently released Khronos extension specifications. The specifications are for OpenCL external semaphore and external memory.
