Total Commander is a file manager that offers a dual-pane interface, unlike Windows Explorer.

Total Commander is a file manager replacement for Windows and Android. It offers multiple language support, search, file comparison, directory synchronization, a fast view panel with bitmap display, archive handling for ZIP, ARJ, LZH, RAR, UC2, TAR, GZ, CAB, ACE formats with plugin support, and an integrated FTP client with FXP and HTTP proxy support.

Total Commander also features a tabbed interface and a versatile multi-rename tool with support for regular expressions. It is extensible through an open plugin API, allowing programmers to enhance its functionality, and it supports binding external programs for file viewing or editing.

Many free plugins extend functionality for various packers and special file formats, including dedicated file viewers. The software also offers a vast array of internal commands, which users can assign to icons for quick access. These powerful customization options can be unlocked with a bit of exploration.

Additionally, Total Commander can be made portable via a special installer for USB and U3 disks.

Changes in Total Commander version 11.51 :

Fixed: FTP download from list: For uploads, don’t send the command to preserve timestamps if the server doesn’t indicate support for it. Still uses the PreserveDates flag for both downloads and uploads (32/64)
Fixed: FTP log file: Sometimes there were dual forward slashes added to the Copied: log line when deleting (32/64)
Fixed: FTP log file: When using “FTP download from list…”, the path to the file was added twice to the Copied: log line (32/64)
