SpeedCommander 22 is a powerful and user-friendly file manager that enhances productivity with its proven two-pane interface, allowing users to view source and target folders simultaneously. File operations such as sorting, copying, moving, and deleting become significantly faster and more intuitive than in Windows Explorer.
Quick View enables instant previews of various file types—including documents, images, videos, and audio—without needing to open them. Built-in tools like FileSync help synchronize folders effortlessly, while FileSearch enables lightning-fast searches across drives and directories.
SpeedCommander also supports access to FTP, ZIP, and other archive formats directly within its interface, eliminating the need for external tools. SpeedCommander 21 features a modern add-in interface, allowing you to use additional plugins and enhance its original functionality. The program communicates with these add-ins via the Component Object Model (COM). An add-in can extend functionality in menus or toolbars. Add-ins also have full access to Speed Commander’s object model, enabling them to open, alter, and access content within folder windows.
SpeedCommander supports multiple FTP protocols, including SFTP (FTP over SSH) and FTPS (FTP with SSL encryption). Users choose a protocol; the rest is handled transparently. Proxy support was noticeably expanded, with the program now supporting Socks 4/4a/5 and HTTP connections. Users can also choose to compress directory listings and file transfers with MODE Z. Bandwidth limiting keeps your connection responsive, if required.

- File operation: Alternative method for launching the new Windows Photo Viewer if launching via the ms-photos scheme does not work (Settings dialog, Advanced – Tweaks; [FileOperation] – PhotosAppMode)
