CPU-Z is a freeware system information tool that gathers details about key components of your operating system.
CPU-Z offers a user-friendly way to access essential hardware information, making it easy to identify both recognized and previously unknown PC components.
The app doesn’t require any installation. It does provide the possibility, though. All you need to do is run it. It doesn’t use any additional files, nor does it write to the registry.
Mainboard information includes vendor, model, revision, BIOS model and date, chipset, sensor, and graphics interface.
Memory information includes frequency, timings, and module specifications via SPD (such as vendor and default timings). It also displays the system’s Windows and DirectX versions.
CPU-Z collects and shows the following:
- The processor identifies numbers, codenames, processes, packages, and cache ranges.
- Mainboard and chipset.
- Memory type, size, timings, and module specs (SPD).
- Real-time measurement of every core’s inner frequency and memory frequency.
The tool has minimal impact on PC performance, as it uses minimal CPU and memory resources. It provides accurate information and performs smoothly during our tests without causing Windows to hang, crash, or display error messages. This means users working on older OS versions shouldn’t worry.
