Hardware Inspector - Windows System Information and Hardware Monitoring Tool

Hardware Inspector is an essential solution for complete IT asset management, offering a wide range of features tailored for network administrators, IT managers, and other technology professionals. It supports every stage of asset oversight—planning, inventory, audits, transfers, retirement tracking, reporting, and more—making it one of the best IT asset management tools for tracking hardware lifecycle data.

Highly customizable and user-friendly, Hardware Inspector tracks each asset from initial purchase to final retirement. It provides detailed reports covering every aspect of hardware and software management, with a unique ability to record the full history of each asset throughout its lifecycle.

By automating hardware and equipment inventory, the software delivers consistent and accurate documentation of transfers, maintenance events, and assigned users. This level of control not only improves operational efficiency but also helps safeguard your organization’s devices by reducing the risk of loss, misplacement, or theft.

Hardware Inspector Client/Server enhances computer inventory management with powerful multi-user capabilities, making it a valuable tool for maintaining all equipment across an organization. Its structured approach and reliable tracking ensure that IT teams stay organized, informed, and fully in control of their asset environment.

Detailed Hardware Inventory.

Gain complete visibility into each device’s lifecycle with a dedicated specification that tracks its purchase details, location, technical parameters, maintenance, and transfer history.

Detailed Software Inventory.

Each license acquires a specification identifying its purchase details, place of installation, parameters, and transfer history among workplaces.

Rich-Featured Service Desk.

For enhanced accountability, the built-in Service Desk meticulously tracks all support requests submitted to the IT department. It maintains a complete record of communications, including message history, attached files, and associated documentation.

Inventory of Expendables.

Hardware Inspector keeps track of expendables issued to and from the storage place, which comes in handy when planning expected demand on a statistical basis.

Tree of Departments and Workplaces.

The tree of workplaces can be viewed in two ways: as a departmental tree and as a map. The devices assigned to a workplace are displayed in a hierarchical pattern. For instance, a motherboard nests within a chassis, a CPU is connected to the motherboard, and other components follow a similar hierarchical structure.

Computer Hardware and Software Maintenance.

Hardware Inspector features a comprehensive system designed to handle device tracking and workplace maintenance. All relevant data is stored and seamlessly integrated with support requests and historical device logs, allowing for the rapid, objective, and impartial evaluation of all services rendered.

Barcode Inventory

Hardware Inspector offers features designed to make inventory sessions as efficient and effortless as possible. For instance, barcode scanner support transforms your laptop into a portable data terminal for instant status reports and asset history. Beyond barcoding, discover four additional flexible options for asset inventory.

Computer Hardware Audit

Ensure data accuracy with Hardware Inspector’s ability to compare database records against system information reports, quickly identifying all discrepancies. This includes detecting missing devices, updating network parameters, and more. The software leverages improved mechanisms for unambiguous device identification, efficient data import, and robust processing.

Network Connections

Hardware Inspector includes a powerful tool for planning and inventorying network connections across your organization.

Diversified Asset History

Hardware Inspector keeps an extensive record of every asset. All devices have individual transfer, maintenance, colocation, and inventory histories. Every license has a maintenance and transfer history.

Three Options for Data Input

Automate your device inventory with Hardware Inspector’s flexible import options. Quickly import data from system information reports (e.g., generated by ASTRA, ASTRA32, AIDA64), drastically reducing manual data entry. These reports capture comprehensive low-level hardware details, including device model, manufacturer, web address, production date, serial number, and other technical parameters. For added flexibility, you can also import data from CSV files or enter it manually.

A Large Variety of Built-in Reports

  • Hardware Inspector offers comprehensive reporting capabilities, allowing you to generate:
    • Device specifications
    • Workplace specifications
    • License specifications
    • Lists of inventory numbers
    • Lists of IP addresses
    • Lists of devices
    • Records of services performed

You can export these reports to PDF, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, OpenOffice, and a wide array of other formats. A built-in report designer is also available, enabling you to customize existing templates and create new reports tailored to your needs.

Data Search Tools

The system supports robust data search through filters applicable to devices, licenses, and expendables. For advanced, precise data retrieval, utilize the dedicated “Database query” feature.

Flexible Data Access Permission

Access rights can be restricted at three levels. Access to program features, to the workplaces’ tree nodes, and device types. For instance, personnel can be denied access to the IT department’s storage.

The application runs on Windows OS. The database can be on the file server. Multiuser work with the database is in file mode via LAN.
