Deluge is a lightweight, full-featured, free cross-platform BitTorrent client for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. It uses libtorrent in its backend and features multiple user interfaces, including GTK+, web, and console.
The Deluge has been designed using the client-server model with a daemon process that handles all the BitTorrent activity. The Deluge daemon can run on headless machines with user interfaces to connect remotely from any platform.
The application includes a robust collection of plugins, with most of Deluge’s functionality provided through these modular extensions.
Deluge is lightweight and unobtrusive. Downloading should not dominate your computer’s resources or interfere with other tasks.
The app is not tied to any specific desktop environment and works seamlessly with GNOME, KDE, XFCE, and others. It is a free program licensed under the GNU General Public License.
