Personal Backup Features:
Selection of Data to be Backed Up
The program offers various options for selecting files to back up. Users can include or exclude subdirectories through selection or filtering, then select files by type, age, or name. Selections are made folder by folder, with all subfolders included automatically.
Selection of Backup Destination
Personal Backup allows users to select any folder located on a local fixed or removable drive, a Windows network server, or an FTP server as the destination for their backup files. The original drives appear as subdirectories named DrvC, DrvD, and so on. Additionally, the program offers the option to compress or encrypt data using the AES algorithm.
Backup Tasks
The program allows users to create and save as many backup tasks as they wish. These tasks can be initiated manually or automatically according to a schedule, and several options are available for scheduling backups. Users can also initiate a backup using Windows Task Scheduler or perform a one-click backup of a folder through the Windows Explorer context menu.
Performing a Backup
Personal Backup offers several backup methods, including checking file timestamps to back up only newer files and using the archive bit to back up only archived files. Experienced users can configure alternating backups with one full backup and several differential or incremental backups.
Data Restore
Personal Backup offers additional functions for managing your data besides creating backups. You can verify the integrity of your backed-up information, restore specific files or entire datasets, and even delete selected files and directories directly from your backups.
Other Features:
The program supports full Unicode and long path lengths and automatically checks for updates at periodic intervals.
Important Note: Personal Backup is not suitable for backing up system data.
The program includes an intuitive Control Panel (see the screenshot on the right) that provides a well-organized overview of user-defined backups. Changing configurations and starting backup tasks is quick and easy, requiring only a few clicks.
