ComboFix is a free program created by sUBs that scans your computer for known malware and attempts to clean these infections automatically. It also allows for the manual removal of spyware infections.
This is a specialized and effective cleaning tool, that offers advantages over other malware and spyware removers. In addition to removing a wide range of common and current malware, the app generates a report that can assist trained helpers in removing any malware not automatically handled by the program.
You should only run ComboFix if specifically instructed by a trained helper. Due to the tool’s powerful capabilities, it is strongly advised not to act on any information displayed by ComboFix without proper supervision, as this could potentially cause issues with your computer’s normal functionality.
How to Use ComboFix:
- Disable or close all anti-spyware, anti-malware, anti-virus real-time protection
- Download the latest official release (5 MB) and save it to your desktop
- Close all of the software, and programs running on your computer
- Double click and start Combofix.exe on your computer desktop
- When the installation is finished, it will create logs for you.
Note: when you run ComboFix it, will automatically delete files from the following locations:
- Windows Recycle Bin
- Temporary Internet Files
- Temporary Folder
If you store files that you want to keep in one of these locations, it is recommended that you move them to a safer location rather than relying on these temporary storage spots.
