iDevice Manager (formerly iPhone Explorer) is more than the iExplorer and iPhone Browser. The program offers access to the device file system, creates its ringtones from MP3, displays SMS messages, plays music, and many more useful functions.

With the iDevice Manager, you can look into the file system of your iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. Also, you can download and upload files by USB connection, regardless of the file format. This function can use your iPhone/iPad/iPod as an “external disk”.

The program provides direct access to photos, emails, SMS, and video directories from iPhones. This allows you to easily and effortlessly copy images, emails, SMS, videos, and all other files to your computer. The same functionality is available for videos, music (from the iPod app), and ringtones.

One of the highlights of the iDevice Manager is the creation of custom ringtones for the iPhone. The user-friendly ringtone editor supports MP3, WAV, AIFF, and M4A audio file formats. The ringtone editor can accurately cut milliseconds. However, the song length is not limited to 32 seconds as iTunes.

Assigning a ringtone to a contact is easy. The iDevice Manager provides a solution for assigning a tone to multiple contacts. Select your favorite ringtone, choose all the contacts to which you want to assign it, and click the “Save” button. The same process applies to SMS tones. Additionally, the iDevice Manager allows you to edit and export contacts as business card files in vCard format.
